Johnson organized 126 House Republicans to sign a brief urging the Supreme Court to throw out Joe Biden's certified wins in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin; his name led the title. Trump used the list of signers to see who was with him. The Court rejected the suit 7-2, and Johnson then voted against certifying the election on January 6.

Chavez had been dead since 2013. Republican Rep. Chip Roy warned that Johnson's plan would "turn the last firewall for liberty we have remaining on its head in a bit of populist rage." Fox News later paid nearly $800 million to settle a defamation suit over the same voting-machine claims.
