His 2025 financial disclosure, an official government filing, records more than 21,000 securities transactions in stocks, bonds, and funds in a single year, on the order of 85 on an average trading day, an unprecedented volume for a sitting president. Many were in large companies with business before the federal government, and in more than 200 cases a stock was bought in one of his accounts the same day it was sold in another. The Trump Organization says outside managers run the accounts and that he plays no role in the trades. Even so, it is a sharp break from recent presidents, who generally held index funds and Treasuries rather than actively traded securities.
