Enriching himself and his family

One of the biggest known buyers of his family's crypto was a man under an active money-laundering investigation.

Trump's own financial disclosure shows he made about $1.4 billion from his crypto businesses last year, most of it from buyers whose identities are not public. One of the largest known purchases, $100 million of tokens from World Liberty Financial, the venture run by Trump and his three sons, came through a firm called Aqua 1; as much as $75 million of it went to a company the family controls. A New York Times investigation identified the man behind Aqua 1 as Guren “Bobby” Zhou, a failed British retailer who has been under an active money-laundering investigation in England since 2021. He has not been charged. World Liberty said it followed all applicable laws and declined to say whether it knew the source of the funds.
